Common Problems during Start-Up/Installation
Questions: Motor will not run
1. Check Emergency Stop buttons - Pull out
2. Check bale door switches, ensure that all doors are closed
3. Check hopper access door , ensure that all doors are closed
4. Check reset on operators panel
5. Check control power to machine
6. Check fuses
7. Check to see if disconnect is turned on
Question: Presshead or Ram will not move
1. Check motor rotation, motor rotation should be clockwise looking at fan end of motor
2. Check hydraulic oil level
Question: Presshead travels down, motor stays under load, presshead will not reverse (vertical baler)
1. Check timer in operator panel, approximate setting is 30 seconds. (may have been disturbed during electrical panel wiring)
Question: Presshead travels down, motor shuts off (vertical baler)
1. Check baler door closed switch
2. Check to make sure door is locked securely
Question: Hopper is full of material, machine is in Automatic, motor will not come on (horizontal baler)
1. Check photo electric eye for loose wiring
2. Check for water or moisture in the electric eye
Question: Hopper is empty, machine is in Automatic, ram cycles continuously
1. Check photo electric eye lens and reflector are clear of debris
2. Check electric eye for alignment with the reflector
Question: Horizontal baler door lock will not operate
1. Check operating instructions
2. Check to see if machine is in Manual operation mode
3. Check if presshead is in full reverse or home position on LS-1 limit switch
4. Check if operator is holding door open/closed selector and jog reverse
Question: Auto-tie Baler - Bale length counter has reached preset count. Inserters will not go in
1. Check input for LS-2A & LS-2B full forward limit switches
2. Check input from high pressure, pressure switch
Question: Auto-tie Baler - Automatic tie has completed, inserters will not retract
1. Check LS-5 twisters home position
Question: Auto-tie Baler - Automatic tie has completed, inserters have retracted, main ram will not reverse
